Canton Smart Connect 5.1 Amp: A Multi-Featured Network AV Amplifier That Doesn’t Cost Much

Canton Smart Connect 5.1 Amp
Canton Smart Connect 5.1 Amp

Canton doesn’t just make speakers, but now that it’s celebrating its 50th year, it’s also releasing home cinema electronics. As is its new Smart Connect 5.1 Amp amplifier that supports Dolby Atmos & DTS-HD and accepts streams via Chromecast, AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect.

The Canton Smart Connect 5.1 Amp is a normal device, an AV amplifier that is, with 4 HDMI ports and six pairs of terminals for connecting 6 speakers. Of the 4 HDMI ports, one is HDMI ARC and the other three inputs for connecting devices such as Blu-ray players, PS5 or media boxes. It also has Bluetooth 5.0.

In addition to the six terminals for 6 pairs of speakers, it also supports 8 more wireless channels to work with Canton’s wireless active Smart speakers. So it can reach a set-up of up to 7.1.4 channels.

It has an analog stereo RCA input, sub-out for an active subwoofer, an optical and a coaxial digital input.

The front panel has no controls of any kind, other than a display screen. All the controls are done from the top by touch, it even has tone controls there.

It is an easy and economical solution for those who want an economical AV amplifier without “disturbing” their aesthetics in the space around the TV. In other words, it is an amplifier with many possibilities to take over the sound of a TV, for those who want to avoid the use of a sound bar and want a discrete speaker solution for a better result.

The device can be used for stereo and 5.1 speaker set-ups.

The price of the Canton Smart Connect 5.1 Amp is approximately 849 euros
