Berlin-based audio innovator HEDD Audio has officially launched the HEDDphone TWO, a major evolution of its groundbreaking original, the HEDDphone ONE. First introduced in 2019, the original set a new benchmark with its proprietary Air Motion Transformer (AMT) driver technology. Now, HEDD builds upon that legacy with a complete redesign focused on comfort, performance, and durability.
The HEDDphone TWO is 25% lighter, weighing in at just 550 grams, thanks to a sophisticated new construction that incorporates carbon fiber and magnesium components. The redesign doesn’t stop at materials—the headband and strap system have also been reengineered for improved ergonomics, offering a more comfortable fit for long studio sessions or immersive listening.

At the heart of the HEDDphone TWO is an updated AMT driver featuring a folded Kapton diaphragm that’s over three times the size of traditional dynamic, planar magnetic, or electrostatic drivers. This expansive diaphragm delivers exceptional detail, transient response, and clarity, creating an evenly balanced, transparent soundstage with minimal listening fatigue.
According to HEDD Audio, the new model’s driver was redesigned from the ground up, with extensive acoustic refinements over three and a half years of R&D. “We knew our AMT driver had the sonic potential to form the foundation of HEDDphone TWO,” says Dr. Frederik Knop, co-founder and CEO. “But refining it into a lighter, more compact, and highly durable product required meticulous innovation and persistence.”

The mechanical architecture has also seen a complete overhaul. A new patent-pending design improves both structural integrity and adaptability. The earcups adjust independently to accommodate various head shapes, and the enhanced clamping system ensures a secure yet comfortable fit.
Each HEDDphone TWO ships with a custom carrying case, both balanced and unbalanced cables, and an extra set of ear pads, rounding out a premium package tailored for professionals and audiophiles alike.
