The Fostex TH910 is a new pair of closed full-size headphones that merge traditional Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary acoustic technology. This model carries on the legacy of the renowned TH900 series, yet it has undergone a complete redesign—from the housing to the drivers and ear pads—enhancing both sound quality and comfort to unprecedented levels.
At the core of the TH910 is an upgraded 50-mm BioDyna driver. The diffuser of this driver utilizes a proprietary biocellulose technology, and its new suspension enhances vibration stability while providing better control over low frequencies. As a result, the bass is both well-defined and precise, while the mids retain a natural and clear quality. The high-frequency range is noted for its clarity and expressiveness, and the overall sound presentation is marked by a rich density and detail, free from any excessive harshness.

To reduce weight and vibration, the mechanical elements of the case (including the base of the cups and holders) are made of magnesium alloy. Compared to aluminum, this made it possible to reduce the weight of the structure by about 20%. A rubber gasket is used in the places of rotation, which additionally dampens parasitic vibrations and makes the fit more stable.
The cup casings are made of hard maple and covered with traditional Japanese urushi lacquer using a technique using silver foil. This finish is performed by Sakamoto Otozo Shoten, a company founded in 1900. The combination of dense wood and hard multi-layer lacquer allows you to avoid sound coloration, while maintaining deep, rich bass and transparent high frequencies. Visually, this finish looks deep and impressive – the headphones impress not only with their sound, but also with their appearance.

The ear pads have a new shape with an inclined plane, which improves the fit to the head. The filling is made of two-layer urethane: soft on the outside and more elastic on the inside, which ensures comfort and stability of the fit. The outer covering is made of synthetic leather based on silk protein – it is three times stronger than conventional materials and remains comfortable even during long listening.
The headband and the cushion underneath are made of genuine sheepskin, due to which the headband remains flexible and soft, and the pressure is distributed evenly.
The kit includes a proprietary asymmetrical Y-cable with a 3.5 mm jack (two 2-pole connectors on the cups and one 6.3 mm jack via an adapter). High-purity oxygen-free copper class 7N (99.99999%) is used for the cable and internal wiring, which minimizes signal loss and distortion. In the future, it is planned to release a standard balanced cable with a 4.4 mm jack.
