Czech audio equipment manufacturer Remton Audio has introduced its newest phono preamplifier, the Remton 481, which will be available in a very limited quantity. Aimed at audiophiles who prioritize exceptional sound quality, the 481 is an enhanced iteration of the company's flagship V-LCR model, albeit without the LCR system for RIAA correction. This distinction positions the new model as a unique option that harmonizes high-end performance with a more simplified design.

Exclusive Production with NOS Tesla Resistors

The limited production of the Remton 481 phono preamplifier can be primarily attributed to the utilization of rare NOS (New Old Stock) Tesla resistors. These components are renowned for their outstanding quality, featuring an exceptionally low deviation of only 0.25 dB across a frequency range from 20 Hz to 50 kHz. The scarcity of these vintage resistors has constrained the total production to just thirty units of the Remton 481.

This careful selection of components highlights Remton Audio’s dedication to achieving superior audio fidelity. The precise matching of resistors guarantees that the 481 delivers remarkable tonal accuracy and consistency, making it a highly coveted item among serious vinyl aficionados.

In terms of pricing, the Remton 481 phono preamplifier is situated between the company’s V-383 and V-LCR models. The cost of the 481 varies depending on the cartridge type it supports:

The model designed for moving magnet (MM) cartridges is priced at just under 3,200 euros.

The model for moving coil (MC) cartridges, which features built-in step-up transformers at the input, is priced at just under 4,200 euros.
