Philips has a rich legacy in the audio industry. While the current iteration of Philips differs significantly from its historical roots, the brand continues to honor its heritage through the release of anniversary products in the Century series, which evoke a sense of nostalgia. The aesthetic appeal remains strong, with the logo reflecting its long-standing history.

Since the 1920s, Philips has been a prominent name in consumer radio. The company was instrumental in the advancement of key components, notably with the launch of the Miniwatt Radio Tube and the first Pentode tube in 1925, which continue to be cherished by audiophiles.

The inaugural Philips radio, the type 2501, was introduced shortly thereafter. During the 1930s and 1940s, Philips made significant strides in radio technology, culminating in the iconic Philetta series of the 1950s, which remains highly sought after by collectors. Over the years, Philips Audio has consistently led the way in audio innovation, from developments in vinyl to the creation of the compact cassette and CD player.

Philips The Tina (V9000): A turntable that comes with an amplifier, speakers, and Bluetooth capability

The Philips Tina integrates a turntable, DAB+/FM tuner, USB audio, and Bluetooth connectivity into a sleek, compact system. Boasting an impressive 120 Watt RMS in a 2.1 configuration, The Tina produces a rich and powerful sound.

The system is equipped with two full-range speakers, a specialized 4-inch bass-reflex subwoofer, and a 6.3-millimeter headphone jack for connecting wired headphones.

Notable features consist of a die-cast aluminum platter, an adjustable tonearm, and a replaceable MM cartridge from Audio Technica. The Tina also supports Bluetooth 5.3 streaming with Auracast, allowing it to transmit music signals to a pair of Bluetooth speakers.

Philips The Janet (V2000): radio for DAB+ and FM

The Philips Janet is a compact device measuring 180 x 100 x 60 millimeters, delivering an impressive 5 Watt RMS sound through its 2.5-inch driver. It features 20 radio presets, a vibrant 2.4-inch color display, and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. With a playtime of up to 16 hours and a replaceable battery, the Janet stands out as an environmentally friendly option.
