British loudspeaker brand Q Acoustics has announced three new subwoofers. The Q Sub80, Q Sub100 and Q Sub120 have a sealed enclosure. The number in the type designation indicates the diameter of the driver in inches. Delivery will start in March.
Q Acoustics Q Sub Series
The new subwoofers from Q Acoustics are intended to amplify the bass reproduction of a home cinema system, but can also be used for the bass reproduction of a stereo system. The cabinets, finished in satin black or white, have a minimalist design without decorative elements. Of course, subwoofers do not have to stand out at all. After all, the best subwoofer is a subwoofer that stands out after it has been switched off.
The built-in amplifier is assisted by Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to optimally adjust the subwoofer to the listening room. The 12 Volt trigger input can be used to switch the subwoofers on/off with the rest of the system. The crossover frequency is adjustable.
The housing is made of 18 millimeter thick MDF panels. The front is even 36 millimeters thick. The smallest model weighs 15 kilograms, has an amplifier on board with a power of 200 Watts and picks up at 36 Hz. The middle one weighs 16.7 kilograms, has 250 Watts of power and starts at 32 Hz. The largest model Q Sub120 weighs 22.5 kilograms, has 300 Watts of power at its disposal and picks up at 28 Hz.
