Totem Acoustic has unveiled its latest floorstanding speaker, the Tribe Tower Thunderbird. This remarkable creation exemplifies a stunning blend of exceptional sound quality and sophisticated design, redefining the potential of floorstanding speakers.
The Tribe Tower Thunderbird, featuring newly engineered 6-inch Totem Torrent drivers and a patented tweeter, produces an expansive and intricately detailed soundstage with profound bass and bright highs, all with remarkable clarity, as stated by its creators. Its sculptural design not only captivates visually but also ensures a performance that fills the room while remaining largely unaffected by the room’s acoustics. Whether you’re enjoying a subtle vocal piece or the full dynamic range of an orchestra, the Thunderbird seamlessly blends into the background, allowing the music to take center stage.
Although the Tribe Tower Thunderbird is an evolution of the original Tribe Tower introduced in 2019, it represents a completely new design. Totem dedicated three years to developing the 6-inch Torrent mid-bass driver, specifically tailored for the Thunderbird enclosure. This driver boasts a multi-layer voice coil, enhanced magnet strength, and optimized geometry, delivering lifelike bass that begins at 28Hz.
This driver, capable of precise sound reproduction up to 7 kHz, is utilized in a dual-driver, crossover-less setup to enhance phase accuracy. The two Torrent drivers are paired with Totem’s patented 1.3-inch tweeter, rounding out the high-performance speaker system. Totem asserts a frequency response range of 28.5 Hz to 29 kHz (+/- 3 dB), and magnetically attachable cover grilles are included.
The Tribe Tower Thunderbird will be launched this summer in four finishes: Satin White, Satin Black, Premium Dusk (glossy black), and Premium Ice (glossy white). It will make its debut at the upcoming AXPONA show, scheduled for April 11 to 13 in Chicago.
