Goldring has been building turntable cartridges for the past twenty years. With the launch of the GR3 turntable, the brand is returning to the turntable market. According to the manufacturer, the GR3 offers a first-class mix of audiophile class and user-friendly convenience.

Goldring’s GR3 marks Goldring’s return to the turntable market. Developed in collaboration with an undisclosed renowned British hi-fi manufacturer, the GR3 features Goldring’s multi-award-winning E3 MM cartridge, offering true plug-and-play functionality. The built-in phono stage ensures seamless compatibility with any amplifier or active speaker, making it an ideal companion to products from sister company Q Acoustics, such as the award-winning M20 and M40 active stereo speakers.

In addition, GR3 comes with a choice of high quality interconnects from Goldring’s other world renowned sister brand QED ensuring a strong connection and sound quality. Goldring offer the choice of either a 1.5m phono to phono cable or a 3m phono to 3.5mm cable from QED.

The Goldring E3 MM cartridge is pre-installed and perfectly aligned to the GR3 tonearm’s tonearm, delivering a balanced, refined and dynamic sonic performance. The GR3’s platter is made of phenolic resin: designed to maximise the flywheel effect. By distributing most of its considerable mass to the outside of the rotation, inertia is increased and speed variations are suppressed.

The chassis is finished in high-gloss black. A plexiglass dust cover is included.

Combining plug-and-play simplicity with uncompromising audio performance, the E3 comes pre-assembled and pre-tuned with the GR3 tonearm. It features a stiff, lightweight aluminium cantilever that delivers accurate tracking, greater detail and reduced distortion, while a dual magnet generator ensures authentic reproduction, improved channel separation and a more musical soundstage. Designed and engineered in the UK, micro-adjustments during production ensure consistent and reassuring performance throughout the life of the product.
