Kenwood has announced the KR-W8000SCD . The new KR-W8000SCD is a stereo amplifier with analog and digital inputs, a slot-in CD drive, extensive radio and streaming functions and Bluetooth connectivity. There is even a connection for a turntable.
With the KR-W8000SCD, Kenwood has introduced a versatile amplifier with radio functions. The KR-W8000SCD has a wide range of analog and digital connection options, but the device is so complete that the user can suffice by connecting a set of passive speakers.
The KR-W8000SCD has three types of radio on board, namely FM, DAB+ and internet radio. The user can store a total of 80 channels. There's also direct access to Spotify Connect and Deezer and of course the KR-W8000SCD also has Bluetooth connectivity. The designers have installed a slot-in CD drive and a turntable input that is suitable for MM cartridges. Music on a USB storage medium is also welcome (FAT16 and FAT32).
The operation of the KR-W8000SCD is intuitive and user-friendly thanks to the navigation rotary control and the eight-centimeter color display on the front of the device. The display shows available FM, DAB+ and internet radio stations, shows artist, album and title information and guides the user through all menus, settings and information.
The KR-W8000SCD can be controlled with the buttons on the front or with the included IR remote control transmitter or using the free smartphone apps UNDOK or OKTIV.
The specified power is 30 Watts per channel. An active subwoofer and headphones can also be connected. Finally, the KR-W8000SCD could also serve as a source device for a separate power amplifier because it is equipped with a preamplifier output.
Price and delivery information
The Kenwood KR-W8000SCD will be available on the market in June for a price of just under $400.
