NAD has recently introduced the latest addition to the Classic Series, the C 379 integrated amplifier. This amplifier is built on Class D amplifiers (UcD technology with HybridDigital) and features an ESS DAC chip (ES9028) along with a second generation Modular Design Construction (MDC) system for easy upgrades and expansions.
With 80W of power into 8Ω and 4Ω, and 120W dynamic watts into 4Ω, the C 379 boasts minimal noise and distortion. Additionally, it can be bridged with NAD's C 268 power amplifier for a fully balanced configuration, providing 300W continuously and over 500W momentarily. The power supply of the NAD C 379 is designed to consume less than half the power of traditional amplifiers in its class, while still delivering clean power to all amplification stages.
The MDC 2, part of NAD's Modular Design Construction second generation, is featured in the C 379 along with two expansion slots. These slots allow users to enhance the amplifier's capabilities by adding features like the BluOS streamer and Dirac Live Room Correction. With the optional MDC2 BluOS-D module, seamless integration of BluOS is enabled, bringing AirPlay 2 and two-way aptX HD Bluetooth to the amplifier.
Furthermore, the NAD C 379 is equipped with two analog line inputs and four digital inputs (2xOptical and 2xCoaxial), including Bluetooth aptX HD, HDMI eARC, and Phono stage (MM) inputs. These inputs feature precise RIAA equalization and offer extremely low noise. It is worth noting that the NAD C 379 provides two independent outputs for subwoofers (sub-out), in addition to a pre-out. This integrated amplifier also boasts an independent headphone amplifier with low output impedance and high output voltage capability.
This allows it to effectively drive a wide range of headphones.
The NAD C 379 is set to be available by the end of June 2024, with a suggested price of €1,199.
