The Japanese company Korg has announced the release of a compact drum machine, the Korg KR-11 Compact Rhythm Box. The device is positioned as a tool for practice and street performances.
The small device stores beats in nine genres, including 8 Beat, Island for ukulele accompaniment, and even EDM. Within each genre, 14 variations are available, and the total number of patterns reaches 126 pieces. In addition, the KR-11 is equipped with a metronome with a basic set of settings.
Users can create their own patterns, for which there are 14 slots for storage. To extract sound, the drum machine is equipped with 16 pads, as well as two outputs for connecting external footswitches. The latter will allow you to bind the sound of a kick drum or snare to the pedal, and play rhythmic patterns with your feet. In addition, pedals can also be used to trigger patterns.
The KR-11 runs on four AA batteries or an external power source. The drum machine is equipped with a speaker for playing sounds, as well as a headphone output that can work as a line output. It is noted that the volume of the speaker is enough for most application scenarios, and it itself is created using Acoustage Bass technology, which provides more bass sound.
