Siltech Symphony Floor Stands: 12 drivers in 3 modules and range from 17 Hz to 100 kHz

The Dutch company Siltech, known for its cable products, has introduced the Siltech Symphony full-size floorstands. They were the embodiment of the ambitions of the owner of the company, Edwin van der Kley Rynveld, who always dreamed of accurately reproducing live sound. According to Siltech, 3-level systems with the highest rigidity cabinets have been developed for this.

At the bottom level are four 18-inch woofers, a rare home caliber that hit the 17Hz low end. The middle level was occupied by a set of drivers responsible for the mid-high frequency range.

These are five tweeters, supplemented by three mid-frequencies, including ribbon and domed tweeters with a diamond membrane. At high frequencies Siltech Symphony operates up to 100 kHz. At the top of the speakers is another woofer with a special oval voice coil (possibly a Scan-Speak product).

All three modules are separated by ruby support elements. According to Siltech, the Symphony's sound is very phase-matched very accurately. The cabinet designs allow for a combination of different materials – in particular, the 180-kg bass module-base inherited its shape and technology from the grand piano. As a result, with a “growth” of a little less than 2 meters, each such column weighs a total of 244 kg.

Amplifiers with a minimum power of 20W are recommended for Symphony. Nothing is said about the maximum power – at the same time, without going into clipping, the systems issue 115 dB of sound pressure. For nominal conditions in the “textbook” range of 20 Hz – 20 kHz, a nonlinear distortion factor of up to 0.25% is promised.

The manufacturer called Symphony “one of the world's finest loudspeakers.” For pricing, finishes and options, contact Siltech directly.
